1       Introductions, apologies and substitutions

The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting and thanked David Rees for acting as temporary Chair.

 

Apologies were received from Keith Davies and John Griffiths, there were no substitutes.

2       Scrutiny of Welsh Government draft budget 2016-17 - Minister for Education and Skills

The Chair welcomed the Minister and his Officials and thanked them for their detailed paper.

Aled Roberts AM declared a relevant interest under Standing Order 17.24; as his wife is employed in the FE sector and has responsibility for the Welsh Language and Welsh for Adults at Coleg Cambria and his son is a full time student receiving a scholarship from the Coleg Cenedlaethol Cymru.

 

The Committee scrutinised the Minister on draft budget proposals. The Committee agreed to write to the Minister on the issues raised during the session.
